who bandha hi kyaa hai jho naache na gaaye...

Time is short. Dance, sing, be joyous! If there were no nuclear destruction possible, no threat, you could have postponed. You could have said,
“Tomorrow we will dance.”

But now there may be no tomorrow; you cannot postpone. This is for the first time that tomorrow is absolutely doubtful for all. Individually it is always doubtful: tomorrow may never come, even the next breath may not come in. Individually death is always imminent, but this time it is something global, universal. The whole earth may disappear, may explode.

You can cry and weep and you can beat your head against the wall; that will not stop nuclear destruction and its threat. In fact, it may bring it closer and faster because sad people, miserable people, are dangerous people. Misery creates destructiveness. Politicians have enough atomic energy piled up to destroy this earth not only once but several hundred times.

If the whole of humanity can start dancing, rejoicing, feasting seeing that the threat is very close by… If the whole earth can become full of joy it will be less possible to destroy, because who is going to destroy it? We are the people; it is up to us to decide that we want to live or that we want to commit suicide. If we start a new climate in the world of rejoicing, of dancing, of singing, of meditation, of prayer and if people become full of bliss, cheerfulness, laughter… there is every possibility we can avoid destruction, because joyous people don’t want to destroy, they want to create.

If destruction has become global, we have to make laughter and dancing also global, in the same proportion, to counteract it. Why be sad? And what are you going to gain by sadness? Yes, i know the world is facing a danger, but each individual has always faced the danger of death. If the time is short, then you have to spread this orange laughter all over the world. Then it is time that we should make people more and more joyous. Tell them that death can take over this earth any moment, because… politicians have so much power now… Just push a button and the process can be triggered, the whole earth can explode. You don’t have time to waste.

The more alert you are, you find new ways of doing things, you find new styles of living your life. The more alert you are, the more creative you are, and only creative people know what happiness is. What you create is not the point just be creative. It may be poetry, it may be music, it may be sculpture, it can be anything, but just the process of being creative brings you to the point where you meet the Divine.
Pen down that something in your life which made you sing and dance :)

Predictions really predict?

Daily Astrology Predictions for Sagittarius: Oct 07, 2008
"If freedom is the goal for you, then grant it to all others too. You might re-examine your relationship with a group you are it, and your attitude towards it. Today you may feel particularly attached to memories of past pleasures. Imagination adds to pleasure. Illusion's a more risky measure. It's a time to give and get Love without conditions or expectations. If you are ready to "go for it" now, you might be recognized or rewarded. Soon you might see an expansion or extension of some things you value the most."
Uh oh, that’s for me! So expecting freedom from me? ;) Expansion or extension of somethings i value most?? hummm...? lemme think....All of us at some point of time read such horoscopes/predictions. Be it from some renowed astrologer, panchagams, TV or atleast in some magazine or newspaper. When I happened to check out, what these Zodaic signs mean, I found this:-“More than 3000 years ago, astronomers wondered how the sky would appear if the stars could be seen during the daytime. Based on their observations of the night sky, some astronomers determined that during the daytime, the Sun would appear to enter or pass through a different constellation each month. These twelve constellations are called the Zodiac. Many ancient people believed that a person’s behavior, emotions, and fate were heavily influenced by the month of that person’s birth–ie. that person’s astrological sign.”
But today we all know Earth spins on its own axis and orbits the sun, etc and yet believe/read these predictions! What is your take on Astrology/horoscopes?

Make way for politicians!

This is about more than just traffic laws, of course. It's about the arrogance of power. These politicians not only assume their lives, meetings and fundraisers are more important than everyone else's to the point that they don't have to follow the rules, they're willing to put other people on the road at risk to prove their point. The minute "public safety" conflicts with their own sense of self-importance, these politicians are quick to dispense with the laws they expect the rest of us to follow.
All these politicians enjoy open road ride while the rest of the public waits. Is it fare?

It happens only in Bengaluru!

Hello friends,

Rules are the particular means by which the state implements and executes its vast powers. In society, as in life, there are consequences for not following the rules. In this instance, not following the rules has imposed consequences for many people other than myself!
The law is not the only method by which the state controls us, and strips our national discussion of all meaning. There is another, less formal but no less constricting means, which is commonly identified by the phrase, "the rules." We must all follow "the rules" You cannot ever break "the rules." Be very, very clear on this point: the only way you can speak the truth on any subject of importance in this country today is BY FOLLOWING THE RULES!
But still people continue breaking them!Who is suppossed to be questioned?govt?authorities?public?.........................?
I caught one such incident. It might be small but it sure is a issue to be considered, thought and discussed. Pen down your comments and similar incidents if you have come across any :)
Look at the snap and do comment on this!

My photography!

I am not a full time photographer making profit out of it.I’ve seen the photos from other local photography forums and the lantern displays which were very impressive which motivated me as well.

Creating a commercial quality photograph requires the skill for choosing and presenting a subject in a way to achieve the maximum effect with the appropriate equipment.

One should have a definite know how of the angle, lighting and the latest equipments and technology to make a name in the field. All these are of less concern for me which i hardly care.
Photography is a unique and creative medium of self-expression. It is an art form requiring aesthetic sense as well as technical expertise.
A hobby that can be made profitable by going professional by the talented.

RJ for a day :)

"Your future depends on your dreams"
So go to sleep!!

Lols!! yes i did dream of being an RJ once and all thanks to RJ Rohith, in RJ terms rock star rohith who hosts a show on big 92.7 fm who made my dreams come true :)
30 may 2008, it was some where in the late evening, was on the way back home in my office cab, cool breeze hitting ma cheeks and soothing nice music which Rohith was playing which was slowly sliding me to sleep.Tadaaaaaaaaaaaaaang! the phone rings. Hello? Am i speaking to miss poornima? the guy asks! i shook my head! Got my senses back and told myself..Wait a minute am talking over phone! Then told him "Yes, you are :)". He continues..."I am glad to tell you this...." there is a pause and i am curiously waiting to listen to the latter part of the sentence, and he goes on,.."Rohith asked me to call you up and you are the chosen lucky one who will be hosting the show for him tomorrow!" One jump i was flying in air.I was dumbstruck, no words to spell out. I was never that excited. I called up everybody i knew that i would be hosting a show the next day and do listen.

Back home i was dreaming only about the next day how it would be? how he would be? how would i talk? etc etc...I could not wait for tomorrow to come! i was restless and excited.
Its MORNIIING!!! Yippee! I was supposed to be in the radio station by 11. They are situated in koramangala, reliance energy building. I was ready within no time and was perplexed to which color dress to put on! black?? naa!! blue?? huuhuuu!! I pulled out almost all clothes from my wardrobe and finally decided PINK! yeah. So the pretty girl in pink said ta ta bye bye to dad and mom and left to fulfill her dream which was almost in her reach.
I met up one of my friends, Ajith, on the way who promised to take me there. It was somewhere around 9:45 and we were there :) sitting in the reception waiting for THE guy:) .I was experiencing mixed emotions.Whatever!! It was fun :)

At last he arrived :) my eyes were wide open with excitement while he shook his hands with mine! I was eclipsed by silence without which i would chatter and chatter and chatter and would go on and on and on and on and on....

The RJ, asked us to wait in the room where the shows are hosted. Damn!! It was mind blowing! I heard from him that the equipment costs 3 crore and trust me their job is the toughest job on earth. There are so many damn buttons on that thingy and you are gone if you mess up with a single button. It more looked like he is a pilot and me and Ajith were co-pilots. Pilot?? yeah true i was flying really :) The show was supposed to be on air between 5 and 9 in the evening. But we recorded the show to help me also listen to myself. All thanks to Rohith for his generosity. It was "anti-tobacco day", and there we go asking people what message they would like to give smokers on that day :) I was asked initially, when the show started and when i was introduced. I said "they should write their loved ones name on the cigar and that's enough they would not be found smoking again" sounded too sentimental right?? but still its all to impress people ;)

He asked me to call my friends and relatives who would like to go on air. I called my jiju, my friends, Chandrashekar,Girish and few more. All gave their views for the day. The time did not stop ticking how much ever i pleaded it not to and it was time for me to leave the studio :( With great difficulty i walked out hoping to come back soon :(

All three of us went and had juice and chatted for sometime and left the place looking at the same building till it faded amidst other buildings and trees. Sent a gentle reminder to everybody to listen to "the show". I was literally jumping with excitement to listen to myself talk on air. The excitement was all over when i popped myself on to bed with the sweet memories still running in me mind, slowly sliding into sleep, hoping for the next day to come with new hopes and dreams.
The sun arose the next morning :( there should be a better way to start a day than waking up every morning!! right friends?? if you have any such ideas do tell me :)

My Gramma!

A grandmother's love isn't one step removed but a grand love.
I thought she was doing me a favor. I thought she was sacrificing her plans and her energy to watch her children and the grand ones. And she really did!

She wasn't verbal with her emotions, my grandma. Indian born, she kept things inside. She was 7 when her father left her,13 when she had her first baby in her arms,my moms elder sister. She had grandpa back for 51 precious years and then she lost him too.
And lost something of herself, too.

I never saw her act up or out, or kick up her heels, or laugh so hard that she cried. I never saw her lose control in any way. Not when her husband died. She dried her eyes. She sat up straighter. And she carried on.

She loved her children and grand children( especially me!). I understood this. But I didn't how much she loved them. How could I? and I believed that her love was less than mine; it had to be, diluted by even the word, grandmother, a syllable removed. Mother closer. Mother the real thing.

I still remember the late night stories she told and the simple way of living she thought me.They inspire me even now! There is no day spent without remembering you grandma, without rolling a drop of tear over ma cheek. Why did you leave me grandma? Dint i love you enough?

If she were here now I would be sitting at her kitchen table eating the
daalpoli(sweet)she always made for me, asking her why.
Why didn't you tell me that being a grandmother isn't love one step removed but a grand love, a huge, twinkle in your eyes, lilt in your steps love that you don't expect?

I call her narsamba(her name) and she used to call me gradma! A Grandmother's Love I always knew within my heart, God sent you from above. I still see myself with you eating those road side gol guppas, seeing movies in tent house, drenching in rain ,the sugarcane we stole,I see even now. I look back and see how she waited at her door exclaiming over each of them , at every age, and at whatever they had with them. A handbag. A paper. A friend.

I see how she always had time to sit down and listen. She gave me what i asked for. And she gave me what i didn't ask for — her heart.

She greatly believed in GOD! Offered prayers and asked for very minute things! One of them was to see one of her grand daughters marriage and god loved her so much that she was taken by him before she fulfilled her desires! Making all of us, especially me, left with nothing. I see her smile from heavens. I see her showering her blessings!

I wait at the door of god. I hear a little voice.
And I know that no sound on earth will ever be dearer.

I love u loads narsamba! Miss u! There is nobody else other than me who misses you!

Spirituality!

Everything we have created on this planet was essentially first created in our minds. All that you see which is human work on this planet first found expression in the mind, then it got manifested in the outside world.

A well established mind, a mind which is in a state of samyukthi, is referred to as a Kalpavriksha or wishing tree. If you organise your mind to a certain level, it, in turn, organises the whole system. Your body, your emotions, your energies, everything gets organised in that direction.
If you do this you are a Kalpavriksha yourself. Anything that you wish will happen.

Once we are empowered with a potential like this, it is very important that our physical, emotional, mental and energy actions are controlled and properly directed. If it is not so, we become destructive, self-destructive.

Right now, that is our problem. The technology which is supposed to make our life beautiful and easy has become the source of several problems. What should have been a boon is turning out to be a curse. If life has to happen the way you think it should happen, first of all how you think and with how much focus you think, how much stability is there in your thought and how much reverberance is there in the thought process - all these will determine if your thought will become a reality or not.

Today, modern science is proving that the whole of existence is just a reverberation of energy. It is a vibration. Similarly, your thought is also a vibration. If you generate a powerful thought and let it out, it will always manifest itself. To create what you really care for, first, what you want must be well manifested in your mind. Once you can maintain a steady stream of thought without changing direction, definitely this is going to happen in your life. It will definitely manifest as a reality in your life.

So, either you make this human form into a Kalpavriksha or you make it into one big mess. You must be clear as to what is it that you really want. If you do not know what you want, the question of creating it doesn't arise.

What every human being wants is to live joyfully, he wants to live peacefully, in terms of its relationship he wants to be loving and affectionate. All that any human being is seeking for is pleasantness within himself, pleasantness around him. Once your mind gets organised, the way you think is the way you feel: your emotions will get organised. Once your thought and emotion are organised, your energies will go the same way. Then your very body will get organised. Once all these four are organised in one direction, your ability to create and manifest what you want is phenomenal.

You have the power to create, you are the Creator, in so many ways. The whole technology of Isha Yoga is just about this - transforming yourself from being just a piece of creation to the Creator himself. This is not in search of God, this is in search of becoming a God. This is not in search of Divine, this is in search of becoming Divine.
